I want to introduce myself

I just joined and thought I may as well introduce myself, some of you guys may already know me.

I have owned Corvairs since 1970, and currently own two restored 66 verts, once is a Monza 140 PG with A/C and the other is a Corsa vert with 180 horse and a ton of options.

About a week ago, I purchased a 65 coupe with an original Crown kit installed with a 350 truck motor. The car has been out of circulation for about 32 years, and the PO felt it was time to pass it on to someone familiar with Corvairs and someone who would work on it and get it cleaned up and straightened out and running again.

I have always wanted one but just never found the "right" one and then this one came along. Last Friday, I saw it for sale, but I had to leave town on Sunday morning to visit my family in Wichita Kas. So I asked a fellow club member Mike Hall if he would go inspect the car and give me his take on it. On my drive to Kansas [on the road] Mike calls me
and says that it is all there, and in pretty good shape, just dirty, dusty etc from setting. The car comes with a bunch of spare parts and misc. and he felt it was a good deal.
So last Sunday night, I called the seller and told him it was a deal, so I bought it sight unseen, but I trust Mike so I know I will be happy.

I will take delivery on the 23rd, and the seller will stay in town with us to attend the club meeting that day.
Needless to say I am hyped up about it and anxious to get started cleaning, polishing, painting etc. When I get some pictures I will post them for you.

The seller told me the car came from West Memphis Ark about 1980 or 1981, and I am trying to find the original sale posting in the Communique.

Welcome aboard once again. I'm glad to see that you found your way onto our Forum. From what you say, it sounds like you made an excellent find at a great price. Crown cars and kits keep popping up and guys like yourself are snatching them up quickly. We all look forward to seeing your car when you get it cleaned up and running. Good Luck

Looks like you found the answer to posting pictures. It confused me at first too. Good luck with sending the next batch

Thanks

I will post some more pictures in a few days. I have not done much on it so far, been waiting for some logistical issues, my work schedule, money etc.
