Hurst Shifter

I currently have a '65 Crown Corvair convertible. It has the customary setup with a Corvair Saginaw 4 speed into a Corvair positrac differential. I am interested in using a Hurst shifter into either my Corvair Saginaw 4 speed or if need be, into a big car Saginaw. I don't remember where I saw it, but I read a while back that the main difference between the two transmissions is the side cover. If that is the case, I'd like to stick with my current transmission using a big car side cover. One way or another I would like to end up with a Hurst shifter setup.

If I am headed this direction, I also need to learn about the specifics of the Hurst shifter. I would like to know what shifter has been used along with specifics on how to mount it and what cables to use.

Any information or suggestions to benefit the cause would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I understand that Chris sold the rights to his kit to Clarks and they don't carry them anymore.

Rick, the shifter that came in my car is a Hurst Indy Universal. Summit sells them as a kit, so you get lot of junk you won't need. Mounting is pretty simple. Chris Wills fabbed my mount. I'll send you some pics of it.
